What is Reiki

A Japanese practice of working with life energy (ki), developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. The practitioner channels energy through their hands to support self-healing.

We are honest: what research shows, what the practice's limitations are, and why initiation must only happen in person with a master.

Reiki is a practice for general wellbeing. It is not a medical service and does not replace work with a doctor or psychologist.

Frequently asked questions

Why is initiation only in person?
Reiju is the transmission through the living presence of a master. This is part of Usui's original tradition. Online initiations emerged as a commercial innovation and have no basis in the traditional system. Theory and meditations can be studied online — initiation only in person.
How do the levels differ?
Level 1 — personal practice: self-healing and hands-on work with others.
Level 2 — symbols and distance healing.
Level 3 — master symbol, preparation for teaching theory.
Level 4 (Master-Teacher) — the right to conduct initiations for others.
Is there a certificate?
A certificate of program completion is issued, specifying hours and content. We do not use the wording "professional retraining diploma" — issuing one requires a license from the educational authority, which a private master does not hold.
Is Reiki suitable for depression or anxiety?
Reiki can be a complement to working with a specialist, but not a replacement. If you are experiencing an acute crisis, severe loss, depression or an anxiety disorder — please consult a psychologist or psychiatrist.
